The boys homework this week was all about where he lives, so we decided to make a globe.
What you need:
- balloon
- paper cuts into strips
- a mixture of flour and water, the same quantities of each mixed into a paste
- some kitchen roll cur into strips
- paint
We blew up the balloon first, and then covered it with a layer of the flour and water mixture and paper strips.
We did three layers of paper in total leaving each to dry in the sun before adding the next.
We used kitchen roll for the final layer as this makes the surface smoother so it it easier to paint afterwards.
When totally dry, you can paint the balloon.
finally pop the balloon and hope it doesn’t collapse.
